GENERAL FAQS
If you have any specific questions about being an Ordeal Member, please go to the Ordeal Info Page.
WHAT DO I DO NOW THAT I AM PART OF SKYUKA LODGE?
You should first join our social media pages to stay up to date with our events:
Facebook: Skyukalodge270
Instagram: skyukalodge270
Our social pages and weekly emails will keep you up to date with any lodge events.
After you've joined our social pages, then you can contact your Chapter Chief to get involved with your chapter all year round.
WHEN ARE FELLOWSHIPS AND HOW OFTEN DO THEY OCCUR?
We have 3 fellowships per year. We have a Spring fellowship, usually around May. Then we have our Summer Ordeal in August. In late October, early November we have our Fall fellowship.
WHAT DO YOU DO AT FELLOWSHIPS?
The OA's motto is, "Brotherhood of Cheerful Service". For each fellowship, after breakfast on Saturday, we do service at our campsite for half the day. Then in the afternoon, we all join in some games that the Vice Chief of Program has planned. After an afternoon full of games, we end the nights with fellowship and socializing before we head to bed.
WILL I KNOW ANYONE IN THE LODGE?
You may not know anyone outside of your troop in the Lodge. However, I know some brothers have met old friends who didn't know they were in the same organization. You'll meet new and old brothers from all over the council and different troops. At any event, a LEC member will find you and spark a conversation with you.
WHAT IF I WANT TO BE MORE INVOLVED WITH THE LODGE?
There are many ways to be more involved:
If you're interested in being part of the Leadership team, but don't want to be a Lodge Officer yet, then you can be the chairman of a lodge officer. Being the chairman means that you'll get a job helping the lodge officer and be part of the LEC (Lodge Executive Committee). Please contact the Lodge Officer and their Advisor if you're interested in a chairman position.
You can also participate in your chapter events. Each chapter meets regularly and schedules events for everyone to participate in. Please contact the Chapter chief and their Advisor of your chapter to learn more about their meetings and events.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR EVENTS?
The easiest way is to go to our calendar page and register for upcoming events. Another way is to go onto the Palmetto Council events website and register there for the upcoming events.
WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?
If your questions weren't answered or you have more questions, please contact our Lodge Chief, Cannon Herring, and our Lodge Advisor, Jimmy Summers. They will answer any other questions that you have.
